Planet city docking problem

I follow the on screen instructions and follow the way markers when I get close to the the city I expect the tractor beam to pull me in. But it pulls me to the planets surface which I then can't get off =(

Hopefully there is a solution, I don't like chucking money away.

Almost sounds like you might be getting trapped under some city structures. Make sure to approach the docking pad from above and not from below.

Welcome dads.

Also make sure you are in IDS mode. In inertia mode you need to apply thrust all the time or in
bursts using After Burner to keep you in the air.
