:cool: Few pilots (if any) try getting to Sol via inertial. The standard way is to depart from Sirius, set your destination coordinates in the proper windows (top right side of nav map), engage autopilot ... then engage inertial (after you're heading in the correct direction).

That's exactly what I'm doing. I entered the coordinates to Sol, hit autopilot, and when my ship set itself to the right direction, I shut off autopilot and then just gunned my afterburner to 7000 and placed the ship in inertial, that way I'm not wasting fuel. A few hours from last night, and 4 hours and counting today, it feels like I'm going nowhere. Hopefully when I arrive, it'll be worth the experience and wait. Plus there is a book I've been meaning to catch up on...so there is always that. Still would like to know the estimated time it took most people.

:o Don't shut off autopilot. It's what forces your ship into continuous hyper-jumps ... with minimum recharge time in between. Inertial simply keeps you from wasting fuel by slowing down between jumps.

There is a thread in the newbie thread that explains about distances and speed. So all you have to do is measure the Distance and you can calculate how long it will take to get there from your current position and speed!.....;):cool:

Thanks, I guess I didn't allow my energy to refill before noticing that I'd eventually jump. This should save me some time, and effort. I don't know what I would do without these boards!

Thanks, I guess I didn't allow my energy to refill before noticing that I'd eventually jump. This should save me some time, and effort. I don't know what I would do without these boards!
...and don't forget to set your energy to +5weapons for fast recharge and minimum waiting time between jumps.

Interesting, thank you Marvin. Yes, this sounds like something that might be worth testing in MP...or did you already experiment with this?...

:cool: IIRC, star system O913 allows for building a full set of trade stations in the northern half ... and another full set south of the planets. When doing contracts at the southernmost planet, you create a new territory ... even though the planet is illuminated by the same star (and, therefore, part of the same star system). Oddly enough, you must go even further south (about 10 sectors) to build more stations (assuming you've already received the "full up" message in the northern half).
