From mercenary to combat pilot and back again.

Post by Letoras »

Hello space explorers, i have a pilot and i chose mercenery direction at the begining. I am wnadering if it is possible to change that, to be a combat soldier or a miner using the same pilot profile. Is it? Or choosing in the first place "locks" the pilot in that direction ? (and ofcourse the equipment you can unlock).

Thank you very much and hope to see you out there.

The career actually choose is only different due starting location and ship frame
if you choose:
miner = start with civil ship in sapphire
combat pilot = you start in warzone with military frame

but you can buy different frame whenever you want and start mining/trading :)

and usually the combat isnt the way to start the game, but everyone does what they think the best!

hopefully this helped, and welcome aboard :)

One thing I like to add is that as for Combat Pilot you start a military carreer in the Warzone in a War with the Vonari by doing military missions in a military ship. You can leave the Warzone anytime you want and trade your ship for a Civillian one to make some credits so you can afford to buy more upgraded equipment. You'r going to need to build up your credit first before you will be able to afford more upgraded equipment. Also you do not buy military ships. You get access to higher millitary class ships by uping your rank by doing missions in one of the 4 Warzones. The higher your military rank the more access you have to more advanced class ships....;)

Does killing random enemies that attack me count on ranking or is it a waste of resources???

If you are talking about military rank, then no. Random killing enemies which could include Navy, Energy, Miners, Rebels and Guilds depending on your reputation will not count towards your military rank.

Military rank will only increase by doing missions in 1 of the 4 Warzones and killing Vonari. I think you get 1 point for every 10 Vonari Kills and 1 point for every successfull waypoint mission completed. So if you have a 5 waypoint mission involving 60 Vonari enemies, upon successful completion you get 11 points towards military rank!...;)
