I've got one last idea but I need time (ahhhh time!) to get to Sol and also time to do some very dodgy calculations. If this doesn't work, I've run out of ideas!:D

Alright, since everyone paricipating in this post is intersted in landing on Earth, we need to think of things that has not been done. Everyone has tried direct landings. I personally have calculated the north and south poles of the planet to see if the defenses are weaker. While I would love to be the sole winner of this, I think a team effort is better. This forum verifies those thoughts.

I have 2 outside the box guesses to try.

1: attempt linked or joined tail gunner landing

2: unexplored blackhole or wormhole that jumps you into Earth
I was playinng FF7 and noticed a part in that game where a blackhole was located above the standard orbit of the Sol system. I have not explored this but it is possible that one exists as we have not found all of what Vice has placed in the game.

I know defenses have been thought about. I personally attempted to haul generators from andromedia to earth. This ment I had to go all the way up to go all the way down again. Was trying to think outside of the box. With this thought, I have not attempted to bring every different kind of material to earth. The idea is to somehow trigger the defense grid to identify the ship as not hostile. The defense grid has to be bypassed in some kind of fashion. This means that it either accepts the ship or something allows the ship to fly past it.

In addition to this I made some notes. Not sure if this will help but they will help verify previous discussions about this.

Altitude = 507450
plant altitude before atmosphere : 162000
Death at 507000
entry at 162000 was X: 68811, Y: -3061 Z:-23265

The altitude kicks in before the atmosphere warning does. These are exact specifications of Earth. Do you own testing and see what you come up with.

Ohh and one more thing. I have suceeded in thnking outside the box. I jumped into the atmosphere and quicksaved my game. When i reloaded, I exploded. I sent the file to Vice and said that I had made a mistake. It was kind of a joke but nevertheless, I wanted to see if he would put my inside of Earth Orbit. He did not. He placed me a few sectors away from Earth. So as far as thinking outside the box for this idea, please do not attempt. It will be one more failure. I thought it was clever but ultimatly unsuccessful.

I guess that leaves us with the option to go back in time, doing that sun slingshot thing they do in Star Trek The Voyage Home. Then in the past there's no ring and thus we enter Earth

. Ok, is there space-time travel in Evochron like this? That would be 4D, lol

I think desperate times call for desperate measures. I say we get the biggest and brightest minds on this forum and create a think tank.

We can call the think tank the Omega Project...Why that name?

Well, considering how the word "Omega" usually indicates "the end" or "finality" and trying to land on Earth always ends in the pilot getting blown up ... the name is probably appropriate.

I have still 2 Ideas I have not tried yet and 1 I'm currently working on. All 3 take a long time to complete. Untill I have completed and tried all 3 I won't be signing up. I do not give up easily!....

Yeah found it, thanks to Dingo. Would have taken ages to find it myself lol. And it took some effort to find the right way to get through the gravity pull, but I got out eventually. Just seconds before I ate my keyboard lol. Nothing seems to come easy lately, but then again it makes the reward all the more greater when you finally get it.

Now to land on Earth... But not today, I'm all out of patience lol.
