I've amazed myself by deciding to try a military career for a while! So I am lusting after a decent sleek military mean machine. - 2 billion and I can only get a ferret - ca va!:D
I've searched the threads and there was a long discussion a year or so ago about what does/should give points towards increasing military rank; At the time it was one contract = one point - various arguments were made for adding more points per number of waypoints required in a contract, more points for more difficuly contracts, points per a certain number of kills, losing "box finding" (whatever that is/was) contracts etc. I can't find a resolution of the discussion
Recently I started in MP and a couple of nights ago was involved in a group combat practice in Talison Warzone (great fun and thanks to everyone there!) At the end I'd "earned" 13 points and was an Ensign. I'm sure that I was only involved in 3 or 4 multi waypoint contracts (it was hard to keep count) and only killed a couple of Vonari (I did say practice!)
What do you actually get military points for? is it per waypoint? Can you get any for popping Vonari in Warzones outside contracts? Are there any for a certain kills in a series of contracts?

All that glory stuff can be placed in a banner for display at the bottom of your posts. If you tried to use it in the game, it would require two lines of chat and certainly wouldn't fit on the cockpit's targeting screen.
We could ask Vice for an ability to mod our ships so that we could weld the medals onto the outside of our ships for all to see (as long as they had amazingly good eyesight!) - Fighter pilots often painted an icon for each kill onto the side of their cockpit :P
