Are you guys familiar with a guy named Gladiator ? He was using the [AS] tag and shot Totalbackslash 4 times with Fulcrum Torps while he was casually mining in Atlas. If this guy is not [AS], he has been using the tag in conjunction with WMD's and should be punished. If he is indeed [AS], but the member list is not updated, then its Totals own fault. He did declare war on all clan folk...so yeah....but still, FTs ?

Hi Propain.

He is not AS that I know of. He might have talked to Aures, but if he hasn't, he will be dealt
with accordingly for flying with AS tag unapproved by the leader.

Thanks for the information.

Catch you out there mate.

AT != AS

I have seen him use the tag AT but not the tag AS, he says it stands for Atlas and he has been pasting stations all over the Atlas system. That is fine with me, but the Atlas system is under AS control and if he starts doing contracts there that is going to be an issue. If he is using the AS tag while going after other players, then that will be a big issue.

Btw good to know Totalbackslash has declared war on all clan folk, if that is true I'm sure I'll have lots of fun blasting him out of the sky.

Well, hes given an apology in the "Enemy of any clan" thread. So go easy on him :P

Just so everyone knows, the pilot formally known as Zule is back to being Siege and I've got my clan tags up, so I'm not being naughty I was named zule. So Oasis that means i don't need another "Welcome" though I could do with the practice lol.

I totally missed this forum until now, hello everyone.
So far I am really enjoying this game and I tried a bunch of Navy ships to see what ship fits me the most.

After trying out pretty much all of em, even the Chimera, not that impressed with the Chimera to be honest, I found my ship.

The ship I like the most is the "aging" Avenger, mainly because imho it's the best mix of shielding, armor and manueverability. (Plus I like the 2400 gallon fuel tank, especially after I got lost in uncharted space early in the game with a Aries and a 400 gallon fuel tank)

I have been learning inertial combat since 2 days and I feel pretty confident fighting multiple fighters now.
I think this weekend I will try that station orbit stuff to get more manual control in inertial flight.

So far I managed to rake up a little over 1100 kills and can do most of the Navy contracts on my own, even the escort ones.

I am happy to be in the Auron Syndicate for sure and learned a great deal from the guys. :)

See you out there in the blackness.

Was this a couple of days ago? I think I saw the launches of these FT's when I was flying around in Atlas a few days ago to check out what was going on there.

Yes, it is 2 or 3 days ago. So you might have seen the launches, if you were in the system.

Yes, it is 2 or 3 days ago. So you might have seen the launches, if you were in the system.
Then I did see them, I flew in the general direction of the launches at 5000 inertial speed to see what was going on but I never saw anyone.

Well apparently one of the reasons I might have been having so much trouble with combat is m frame rate which is 6 on a good day. Got myself sorted on a better system that I can occasionally use, so I wouldn't mind trying out some combat on there so oddly enough yes please more welcoming would be good :D lol.

Today I traded my Avenger for a Starmaster and see what that I.M.G. thing is all about.

After getting used to the relative sluggish handeling I tried some combat against the Vonari and I must say that the Starmaster is more powerful then any militairy ship I have flown so far.

Ok, it is a bit sluggish but mainly due to it's ability to boost the equipment slots you can turn that ship into a real powerhouse.

I really think they should add equipment slots to the higher tech militairy ships to compensate this a bit.

Other then that it took me little time to find a nice crew and their stats are moving up pretty rapidly.

 When Vice added the engine thrust multiplyer, he pretty much put military ship manufacturers out of business.

Pretty much yes, maybe it will be fixed at some point.
In the meantime I will fly my truck.

I think the military frames still have more agility don't they and perhaps some more armor than the civ frames, thus making them worthwhile for the serious combat pilot. I think Civ frames are more useful anyway myself as you can still fly the military missions but have more options as to what you can do otherwise, like cargo/mining/trade etc.

They are more manueverable yes, well, up until the Avenger with a manuevering value of 70 and has an armor value of 170.
The frames with higher armor have about the same manuevering value as the Starmaster with a good set of wings on it.

And then still, the Starmaster has almost 1/3 more armor then the Chimera.
Come to think of it, maybe the Starmaster is even more manueverable then the Chimera since the basic value of the Starmaster is 45 not counting higher class wings and the Chimera has a none upgradeble value of 52.

Then there is the fact that civil frames can add more equipment slots and have a crew to boost it's abilities.

You know I might be wrong but don't wings only effect the agility in planetary manauvers?

 Check the charts at Seejay's website. I think you'll find that they improve maneuverability even in space.
