Here is the source for EM Tool.
It is written using the AutoIt programming language (google it)
At compile time it needs a few files which are in the release version (.bmp .gif .txt etc...)

I hope this is useful to you guys.

I can't guarantee the release will stay available on the link given in the initial post of this thread. Anyone who has it available for download please put the link here..

This thing works great! I install all of my data and games to custom directories so it did take me a minute to figure out the config files. I not only forgot the trailing backslash but also accidentally named the file .txt.txt since the extensions were hidden. Derp!

Anyway thanks for this excellent mod and even further thanks for releasing the source!

I wanted to test Em_tool, which is very nice, besides being a good helper.

Only for the first time you run it... after that the savegame.txt file has been created and is available to the program so you should be able to load it up without the game running..

No one else ?? Can't be true, every 'old' (compared to me newbie) player I met so far is/ was using EM-Tools with EvoMetrics (which tracker is not working anymore, and that's sad too), and no one is asking for a potential update ??

The Em Tool still works, but the savedata.txt as changed.

I'm making a new version of this tool (principaly to make it available with more screen resolutions, i personaly use a vertical second monitor), but i'm not helped with informations given :

But i think it's not right anymore. For example, weapons on board aren't in the savedata.txt. I don't see remaining life of enemy also in it (but it's given in original EM_Tool).
Did someone can help me to have the right informations stored in the savedata.txt ?

I'm not ready to post an exe of my tool, but here's a printscreen :

For now, i haven't made the GPS system, i will try to make a more complete one. For the little story, it's written in C# using WPF so you will need .Net Framework 4 minimum.

Sorry for my low english, it's not my natural language ;)

EDIT : The current system isn't written in the savedata.txt when you're in a "subsystem" (for example near T408 it will write T408 and not Talison) how can i know where i am, did i have to calculate it ?

My tracker works in Evometrics! :)

I hadn't got around to reinstalling EM_Tools - didn't realise that it doesn't work anymore - :(

I have found what i wanted, thanks ;)
Now i use also the great file from http://evochron.junholt.se/ to show POI in the sector, it works well, but i had to make a trick when i'im in a subsystem (that doesn't work with unknown subsystem). I will have to make a true GPS-Like with the position calculated i think.

I have updated EM Tool to version 2.08 to work with the changes in the new savedata.txt.
The file is available in the download section of my site.
Please let me know if anything is still not working as i am no longer active in this game.

Also it would be helpful if somebody could make this file available on another site as my site *MAY* be closing soon.

Here is the source for version 2.08 of EM Tool.

It is written using AutoIT (free to download on the net).

To compile you will need the files generated by the EM_Tool.exe file to be present in the source folder.

No matter what I do I can't get the program to spit out the savedata.txt

I've made sure the savedatasettings.txt is in the right folder. it's named correctly and only contains

2000
C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary\\

The EM Tool still says waiting for savadata.txt when i launch it before or while playing the game.

Is it incompatible with the current version of EM?

If the savedatasettings.txt file isn't creating a savedata.txt file, then that's your problem. You don't need to be running any 3rd-party programs to check this ... just put the savedatasettings.txt file in your main game folder, run the game for a few minutes, then exit the game and look in the main game folder for the savedata.txt file. If it isn't there, then do a search for it.

Does anybody know if there is anything that prevents it from working on a windows tablet(touchscreen)? Works great on an old laptop pulling the data over the network.
