I originally used a joystick but switched with the new version of the demo (still evaluating) to a mouse to mirror Freelancer.
Talking of which, there doesn't appear to be a way to change the mouse sensitivity in the control options. Am I missing something?

That is done using an external text file. Simply create a file in the game's directory called mdeadzone.cfg and enter a value in the first line between 1.0 and 10.0. The default value is 4.0. For more rapid response, use a value above 4.0. For a lower sensitivity use a value below 4.0.Talking of which, there doesn't appear to be a way to change the mouse sensitivity in the control options. Am I missing something?
The option to adjust it in game will be added for the next update.

Any control function you see on the configuration menu, yes. You can bind buttons in addition to the key settings (so both are available as options at the same time) as well, if desired. Can I map any button I want thats on the keyboard to my joystick without creating a profile?

Is there anyway that I may be able to use my PS2 controller with Evochron Alliance?
I am able to use it for some other games (through a PS to USB convert cable) but in EA there doesn't seem to be any apparent compatibility for that setup, it won't recognise the controller as a controller/gamepad.
The only reason I ask that is because it has 16 programable buttons and four axis' (and I can't use my wingman Rumble Pad because it's broken)
The thought of almost being able to have all that functionality for the game................
I can almost here the whine of the AI's already

It should work fine if Windows recognizes it in the game controller window. If you have multiple controls listed at the same time, you may need to temporarily unplug the ones you are not using (before you launch the game) to get the game to pick up the one you want to use.

Its DarKcyde. sounds like darkside
http://www.edimensional.com/ makes it. Same guys that do 3d glasses.
Its a voice recognition program, and it works really well. Uses the microsoft speech SDK. I can talk as fast as I want, it still understands me perfectly.
I use it in flight sims for stuff like gear up/down, and game commands like views, pause, menu, save, etc. Mostly non-avionics stuff that I dont want to map to my joysticks. If anything detracts from the full HOTAS experience, I try to map it to voice commands. That way I never have to take my hands off the sticks. I guess the less buttons you have on your joystick, the more usefull it would be.
I dont see a big need for it in starwraith games. Although you could easily use it for Jump drive, jettison cargo, and stuff like that.

I have that program then. It's just not called "voice buddy". But it is by MS and allows me to program vocal sounds to keyboard commands. Some games have more than 60 keyboard commands and it comes in useful. Maybe yours is an update. I will have to check it out! Thanks for the reply...

Logitech Rumblepad 2. Went out the day after I first played EvoChron and bought it at Best Buy for $30...
I STILL cannot get the vibrations to work - they work on the pad, just not in the game.
If I keep playing, I'm sure I'll be hunting down a Saitek x52... What a stunning set of devices - and cheap for how cool and functional it is.
I noticed the Saitek web site is selling reconditioned x52's for $60-70...

I would set Secondary missiles to "LIGHTING BOLT!" and Countermeasures to "SLEEP!"Originally posted by DarKcyde

Plus, I think they warranty those units for a given period of time.
As for the force feedback problem, this thread might help:

If needed, I may be able to put together a similar customized version of EA to work the same way if those other steps outlined in that thread don't help.
