Hi, I'm the new guy. I bought Legends a couple of months ago because I'd tried the freeware versions of Starwraith's 2-4 and Riftspace (Mercenary didn't run on my computer). Vice might remember me as the guy he kindly lent his evoch-c model to. I had a couple questions; I was wondering about traveling to Earth, I heard there is a jump gate in Orion that takes you anywhere. Is it in Legends? And if so, how do you use it? Do you just enter the system xyz coordinates? How would I get back if there is? Finally is there better technology in the Sol system than in Pearl and the other high-tech systems? I have an Atlas cannon and a Neodymium Laser, a Class 5 hyperdrive, a Class 3 repair system, a mining/tractor beam, and a cannon relay. I am flying a Wraith. Is there better equipment I could get for my ship there?

Hello Commander Wilmot, the gates that lead to 8 or more (can't remember) destinations are in what is called Riftspace. They are in both games. You can find Riftspace by doing the quest. You find out the location that the gate goes to by going through the gate:D. I save B4 doing this in case I end up in a location I don't like. The gates are one way only. Sol has lots of goodies and is a great place to make money. Welcome to the forum and the Sim. Have fun and hope to see you in Multi-Player sometime.:)

 Actually, Legends contains two quests ... one of which leads you to Riftspace. The quest in Mercenary is different.

Thanks, actually I was referring to the Shefeld gate and I looked at the wiki and it said that it is located in the Rucker Asteroid Field. I have been there and not seen it, is it there in Legends and just hidden or is it only in Mercenary?

Never mind, I looked and apparently it appeared in SW4: Reviction. I must have looked at a post talking about Riftspace and gotten mixed up.

Riftspace has lots of wormholes, not gates. However they are almost as easy to use as gates. Blackholes are another matter though!:P

Do locate the lost container missions count in War zones? I have done 52 contracts and 90% or more of them are warzone missions, I am trying to get to the rank of Lieutenant (so I can get the Evoch-C) and according to the guide I need 50 warzone missions to reach the rank of Lt. But my Wraith and I have had a few close encounters of the hostile kind with various missiles, I would like to keep advancing towards my next promotion and waiting around for my ship to be repaired by the class 3 auto-repair system. Twiddling my thumbs while I wait will not get me closer to that promotion, but if I don't wait I might get more hurt to the point which my ship will be destroyed if I don't wait even longer to heal up. If I could do search missions and advance my rank, while making money and healing up, I would get there much faster. Also I am curious about what the Evoch-C looks like in Mercenary, I would be grateful if anyone could post screenshots of it or of the chimera on this thread. Thanks.

Image Which game are you playing, again? If it's Mercenary, press V to get a 3rd person view of your ship. Or you can go into the hangar and view all available ships in 3-D. Just drag the ship from the right side into the center screen.

I'm playing Legends. I have been playing for the last several months and I played SW1-4 and Riftspace before and I have read the manual, so I know the key bindings and what I'm doing for the most part.

I am wondering if the sunrage/sunrail cannon from the original SW series of games could make a reappearance in Mercenary or a later game. The Sunrail is currently a vampiric cannon, which is fine with me. But I would like to see a rapid-fire cannon like the original Sunrage appear. My thought is that it would be dual cannon system like the rest of the cannons, but instead of firing two shots each time the cannon system is fired once, it would fire a four shot burst from each of the cannon. Stats: damage: 25-50 (x4) cycle rate: 120-140 range: 600. I was curious on getting others thoughts on it before making it an official proposal.

edit: Sorry, possible spoiler alert

I heading to the portal to Riftspace, I believe it is at the coordinates SX: -1598, SY: 0, SZ: -2048: XYZ: 0,0,0. Is that correct?

 Gas up. Save before you go in search of the RiftSpace gate. Worst that can happen is you need to load the save.

I started from the nearest system (I believe Emerald) with full fuel tank (my evoch can hold 1200 units fuel). From what I heard from other forum posts that should be enough.

edit: nearest non-hidden system I mean.

Hi Commander.

It's closer to start from Orion.
Here is a lot of coords for legends if you need it.

I could have started from Orion. I don't remember. I just looked at the quadrant map and found a system with a sx co-ordinate close to the sx co-ordinate of the riftspace co-ordinates I was given.

If you started from Orion you have more than enough fuel to make it, and you are on the
right track there to find what you search.

Have you considered switching to Mercenary?

I played Legends a little bit before Mercenary was released and I really liked it.

Mercenary is even better in my opinion.

I would like to, but I just bought Legends. Also I was not able to get Mercenary running on any of my computers; Vice assures me it should run, but I spent a fair amount of time trying to configure the game to my main computer and it didn't work. I could try again, but I had already bought Legends less than 4 months ago (not too long after buying the game I e-mailed Vice on May 3rd) and don't have the money to buy another game.

Oops, I started from Lambda and went the wrong direction for some reason. I'll have to head for Lambda and then Orion.

Finally made it to Andromeda. But I wasn't able to dock at the carrier, I guess I will have to come back with a civilian frame and a mining/cargto beam.

Could someone u2u with a good trade route, I spent 5 million of the 7 million I started with on financing this trip. I made my money by mining until I could buy a ferret and then went to the Talison warzone and work my way up completing combat contracts until I got an Evoch-C. I know fulcrum torpedos sell for more at hidden planets like Hidden Pearl, but I don't know a good place to buy them.
