Feels good to be back

Post by Kursah »

Well I purchased EM from sw.com the other day, and I'm glad I did. I had purchased EL back in 09 and played around with it for quite a few hours, even had a few guys talk me into the MP side of things. It was a blast once I got the hang of it, and had a few helpful pointers. Is Shewter still around? He was one of the guys that took me under his wing and really helped me out a lot.

Either rate, I couldn't take it anymore and dropped my money on it..and just like EL, I dig it. I'm still getting used to this title as I hadn't played for quite some time, and I'm still adjusting how I play on my Xbox 360 controller (tips?). If I have one complaint, it's that when using the triggers for throttle control, both triggers out = 50% throttle, l-trigger will go down to 0, and r-trigger will go to 100%. So I use intertial a lot (set as the rh joystick button)...but it just feels kinda clunky at this time. I can't really justify getting a different controller and was using a Playstation 2 controller + usb adapter last go around (long gone). I actually kinda wish I could use the triggers as buttons for weapons but the game will only detect the triggers as axis. But maybe it's best they not be attack/weapon triggers...I dunno tbh. So any tips/tricks here are welcome...then again I am still adjusting and getting used to things.

Really aside from that, it looks a good bit better than EL, loads faster than I recall EL loading, and the overall experience is smooth but with great physics. I'm still getting used to the basics, but I plan to hop online one of these days.

Thanks again Vice for continuing to create these great titles, I feel very content with my purchase and am happy to support yet another title from an indie developer, and at this place I'm now a repeat customer and it feels good. I'm looking forward to seeing how this title grows and from some of the threads I've browsed recently, from changing the MP coding to adding Major Events/Random Missions things could get very interesting. Cheers.

Hi and welcome back.

It truly is a blast out there in MP. Hope to see you there soon.

I haven't tried flying with a XBox controller, so I can't help you with that.
I use a Saitek X52 system and that works great with this sim.
You could get a new one for about 100euro I think.

Catch you out there mate.;)

I have been told that the mouse + KB combo works well in EM, but I just can't convince myself to try it yet. I'm getting more and more used to the 360 gamepad, I'm still tweaking my button assignments, but I'm much more comfortable with it.

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome back guys! See ya out there! Cheers!
