Can you see that your game actually creates the file savedata.txt on your computer?

Hi Mikeuk.

Thats strange. MapMan matbe have an answer to you.
The database is online and it communicates with that. There will probably
be an option to download the DB and run it offline as well.
Then you just download the latest DB each time you start the program, but for now it's online.
The systems/objects you add is saved locally on your computer.

That is most likely because Vice have done some changes to the savedata file and
the program needs to be updated. It will be!;)

I have tested the latest build and tracking seem to work just fine. You all must check if your settings points to a savedata.txt that exists on your computer. Without this file it will not work.
I have a new version coming out tomorrow with the missing SY, PY coordinates for private findings.

There is an error in that path Mikeuk.
It should be: C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary\\savedata.txt

Hi

Sorry to be a pest but I can't work out what cause of my problems are with EvoMetrics

I'm not running MapLog nor Comitis, just Evometrics. I still can't get the tracking dot on the EvoMetrics map and the "carrier data" tab doesn't pick my ship up and the last letter of the last word in any box is still chopped off.

The settings I'm using are:

SaveData_FilePath = C:sw3dg/EvochronMercenary/savedata.txt
SaveData_Interval = 5000

I'm using MP V1228 with savedata.txt in the main EM Folder. As a test I created a new combat pilot - and savedata.txt has all the info in it. The savedatasettings.txt file in the main folder is

5000
C:\\sw3dg\\EvochronMercenary\\

I've tried the SaveData_FilePath setting with \\ instead of / and created a new mercenary in Sapphire - it makes no difference - no tracking dot and no info in the carrier data tab

I'm bound to be doing something daft! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!! :D

There is still an error in your path.
Copy paste this one: C:/sw3dg/EvochronMercenary/savedata.txt

Good luck

I now have a nice yellow dot and lots of info in the carrier data tab :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Geeez, SeeJay. I'm confused. Are we supposed to create a text file named "savedata" or "savedatasettings"? And it's supposed to be in the same folder as the games .exe, right? When we set the path in Evometrics, do we use a forward slash or back slash. I can't seem to get it to work. The game doesn't seem to be writing anything to the text file. Love the program. Love to get the tracking working. Thanks.

Hi Chicki.

Here is the manual for EvoMetric: http://evochron.junholt.se/menus/downloads.htm
(It needs to be updated but it will help you some.

If you don't have these files, create them in you game folder (C:/sw3dg/EvochronMercenary/):
savedata.txt (The game updates this file).
savedatasettings.txt (contents "2000" only without the "") will update every 2nd second.

In the EvoMetric settings use this C:/sw3dg/EvochronMercenary/savedata.txt

Then click on the Tracker to plot your position.

Good luck and I'm happy you like it.

:o Does MapMan's EvoMetrics replace Atollski's nav tracker ... 'cause I haven't seen Atoll or a completed final version of his program in quite awhile. And I've been waiting. Then, again, I waited a long time for Sony to finish upgrading the Betamax. So, it's not like I'm in a hurry.

Hi Marv.

No, it's not a replacement as of now. The trilateration is still made by Atollskis program.

Haven't seen him around in a while either, unless he has become a Vonari???

Sorry I'm still about - have bought a new rig and haven't installed Evochron Mercenary on it yet.

As for the program, it's currently at version 1.0. I've compiled it using Visual C++ 2010 and it seems to behave OK. Is there anything else you want on the program? So far, the last thing to do is get a submission system up and running for your site and it should be more or less done!
Like exploring? - Ver. 1.0 (13/02/2011) What is this?

 Assuming you've already added all the missing labels, the only other thing I could use is an alarm clock to tell me I've been exploring into the early hours of the morning ... and it's past time to go to bed.

After a suggestion from Ophi when I tested his HUD mod, I have made a new "Mod Section" on
my website. Ophis mod is available there for download.

I'm testing modding myself now for the first time. Just made a compass and is trying it out.

All who wants their mods puiblished here are welcome to email them to me and I'll upload it.

Thx Ophi for the idea and the mod.
