What is the refresh rate of your monitor?, and are you getting those rates in Single player or Multiplayer?
and if in Multiplayer, what kind of internet connection are you using, wireless, DSL, or Broadband Cable or Fios?

Yow , that 480 should be able to hold 100 - 120 fps
It has to be a setting or driver issue ,would need to know some more info on your settings in game and nvidia control panel to help.

It's a driver issue, I troubleshot in the past was hoping since Nvidia looked into it a stutter it might have added a bang.Originally posted by GORFOriginally posted by Ohsirus

It appears that Evochron Legends doesn't trigger 3D mode in newer video cards or maybe drivers. The Clock Speeds never change and with it being gtx480 you can't roll back the drivers too far.

Just had a GIANT scare. Up graded my Nvidia driver to the recommended one and the Sim was very jumpy. I had set a restore point first so I did a restore to before the update. when it was done I had a black screen after start up even in safe mode. It took over 3 hours and many f11 restore tries before I got a normal screen back. My older driver is back and the Sim is running good again. I though a restore point would protect me but WOW, I will try to do a driver rollback if and when I try that again.
