to patch or not to patch?

I read that there was an Arvoch Conflict patch. I'm not sure if I need this or not. How do you know what patch level you're at?

Your patch level is shown if you click multiplayer, lol. Probably (but not certainly) as well on the main menu.

Patching is easy, just re-download the game from the original site - everything will be conserved (savegames, license, settings ect.), so its a 25MB patch.
