AA SE Vulkan is fantastic!!

Post by WhiteFang »

With AA SE Vulkan I am finding performance is better with very large engagements!

Planets look better to me as well as does lighting in general.

Don't think Reshade is even needed here.

A fantastic achievement and thank you!!

I usually played AA using the instant action button but have finally with SE defeated mission 10 by 1 second ;)

Mission 12 with the Vonari Base - wow nice, very immersive.....and got demolished several times.

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary of making truly the best space-sim games ever seen 8)

Fantastic, glad it's looking good and performing well. I'd be interesting in learning your system's basic specs for reference (GPU, GPU, memory, speeds, etc).

Hopefully, mission 12 isn't too difficult. There are some techniques that can help if needed.

Hi Vice, here are my systems specs:
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/30548650

A few points:
- my settings on my PC were from here for xplane 11:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsum5o9IEzw

- on previous PC I overclocked GPU and CPU quite aggressively but here I have not done so at all.

With Nvidia control panel for AA SE
- Image sharpening - off
- Ambient - not supported
- Aniso filter - app controlled
- antialiasing FXAA - off
- antialiasing gamma - on
- antialiasing mode - app controlled
- antialiasing setting - app controlled (greyed)
- antialiasing transparency - off
- CUDA GPUs - all
- low latency - off
- Max frame - off
- multi frame sampled AA - off
- opengl - auto
- power - max performance
- shader cache - on
- texture filter - on
- texture filter lod bias - allow
- texture filter quality - high
- texture filter - trilinear - on
- threaded optimise - on
- triple buffer - off
- vsync - app
- vr pre rendered frames - 1

Arvoch SE
- all graphics on very high
- vsync on
- 2560 * 1440
- AA - off
- terrain updates - 280

I tend to use reshade for AA and hdr but have not done so here..

Up to mission 15.
Far out so immersive! Great missions really advancing the narrative and there is a great variety.

Spoiler alert

Loved the challenge of the absolutely massive swarm around the Vonari Base.

Gas giant with strong gravity and huge winds.

Then a Wolf in sheep's clothing spy mission in a Vonari Fighter, nice!
