Hi all.

I created a hudtext.dat file to add Position and cargo information, just as we did in EM.
I put it in a "hud" folder that was placed where the profiles are stored. Works like a charm.

I published this on the Steam Forum, but a player that's playing through Steam
can't get it to work.

He said that he put the hud-folder in here:
C:\\Users\\(UserName)\\Documents\\sw3dg\\EvochronLegacy\\hud

Is that the correct place to put it? If not, where does it go?

It's a bit hard to guide steam users when I don't play through steam myself!:o

Steam installs the game to this folder:

\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\SteamApps\\common\\Evochron Legacy

So mods that depend on being in the install folder should go there.

Yeah, the only thing that doesn't update is the in-sector coords.

The cargo readout is set for all ten cargo bays. I'm thinking of deleting the coordinates readout since it doesn't reflect in-sector coordinates. And create a couple different cargo readouts: one for ten bays and one for ... oh, I don't know ... fewer bays for a shorter list.

P.S. I forget ... what's the "1" or "0" below the "255" stand for?

Are you putting the file in a folder called /HUD like this: F:\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\common\\Evochron Legacy\\hud

You'll replace the F: with whichever drive yours is on. Mine's on F: so if yours is on C: you'd change it to C:\\SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\common\\Evochron Legacy\\hud
And this is for Steam.

This is the contents of mine: (not sure why it's spacing it the way it is, but remove the extra spaces.

Code: Select all

200 1st value sets the red color (0-255, default 100)
255 2nd value sets the green color (0-255, default 255)
255 3rd value sets the blue color (0-255, default 255)
20 4th value sets the X pixel offset (usually leave at 20)
50 5th value sets the Y pixel offset (usually leave at 50)
-7.5 6th value sets the X position (ie -7.5 for widescreen displays)
0 7th value sets the Y position (usually leave at 0)

Thanks for the extra info, SeeJay.

So, the easiest way to position a readout might be to take a screen shot and then reduce the width to 1024 pixels?
