[EM 2.408] Runtime Error 2002 - Could not load animation at line 84621 *FIXED*

Post by Mr.Peanut »

Ran without issues until today.

Loaded EM saw the bottom left spinning loading animation and then my system locked up at the initial "starbust" of the SW3D animation. Rebooted and now the SW3D animation does not load. Instead I get:
[EM 2.408] Runtime Error 2002 - Could not load animation at line 84621

Have uninstalled EM and reinstalled.
Vista 64 Ultimate.

The freeze likely corrupted the video file at or after its extraction, damaging it to the point it can't be loaded by the game. Follow these steps:

- Download the attached 'novideo.txt' file and place it in the game's -install- folder.
- Launch the game, enter the profile selection menu, select a profile.
- From the main menu, immediately click on Exit.
- Remove the 'novideo.txt' file from the install folder, then launch and play the game as normal.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thanks. Worked like a charm. However, why did uninstalling and then reinstalling not work?

Usually, a damaged file like that can be cleared/reset the next time the game starts. But for some reason, the damaged file must have been left behind in a temp folder and the game couldn't clear it/reset it as needed. The next update will include some additional checks at startup to help prevent that kind of problem.
