Sharing of custom ships

Just a quick question.... (Or three.....) (or four.....)

In Arvoch Conflict, if you want other people to see your custom ship in multiplayer, do they have to download it and install it, like in EA? Or will multiplayer detect if there are any non-standard ships and transfer them to the computers of players that don't have that ship? Or will custom ships be able to be used in multiplayer at all?

Other players will need to install the same ships. Some kind of MOD 'pack' would be a good idea if multiple custom ships start to be used. One nice feature of the new system is that if you discover someone wants to use a custom ship while you're in the chat lobby, you can download the ship (via ICQ, e-mail, website, etc.) and install it without having to leave the game. Once installed, you'll then see it appear in the loadout menu when the host launches. Custom ships can be used in multiplayer, design them well.

OK, thanks....

I have one in the works, but I can't get it to look quite how I want it to, so it may be a while....

That system sounds like it would work really well. Especially the not having to leave the game part...

Also, this brings up a problem. I can't get ICQ to work. When I start it up, the login menu comes up, then it crashes with the "... has encountered a problem and needs to close." window.

I can't find the installer, or I would try re-installing it. I'm trying to download the installer again, but downloads fail as often as they don't on my computer, so it may be a while before I can try that....

Also, I can't remember my ICQ number, so is it possible to find out what it is or will I have to get a new one?

If you remember what your ICQ callsign is, I can look it up in the directory and should be able to locate the number.

Just click u2u at the top of the forum (usually right next to 'logout').
