No Sound

I get beeps in the menu. But no music or sound of any other kind in the intro or game itself.

Audio Card(s):
M-Audio Audiophile 2480 (main)
Hercules Game Theatre XP (secondary)
(both are DX9 compliant with the latest drivers downloaded)

Although I'm not sure how it could occur, certain WAV audio codecs could be missing on your system (codecs that have pretty much been around as standard since Windows 98), perhaps altered or corrupted. Try updating Windows Media player and see if that allows the sound to play. If not, we'll try something else.

I do music on my 'puter, so your suggestion gave me a clue. I removed some conflicting codecs and then everything worked fine.
