[EM 2.918] Target ship representation positioned to high

Post by Rhaba »

I have installed a HUD mod. Viper's: http://www.starwraith.com/forum/viewtop ... #pid129343

And now that I've fixed my chat box clipping issue I see that the representation of my target ship is not centered in the box. It is a little too high underneath the box header. Enough so that I am having a hard time determining their heading. How do I fix that?

Not all mods created for EM 1.xxx works without adjustments for EM 2.xxx

As SeeJay points out, if you are using really old mods (pre-2.X before Dec. 2012), you or the author will need to update their values/settings/structures to accommodate the differences and options in 2.X. The latest customizing kit includes the parameters in the setting files that you'll need to update/modify to change such placements.

Took me a long time, but the answer was as simple as for the clipping of the chat box. Seems someone would have posted something about it but was never able to find a thread. So here it is.

Find the gauges.txt file (note .txt, not .dat)

Find this line in it:

3.77 10th value sets the target object's vertical position, default is 1.98 (note to self: was 2.27)

As you can see, I found 3 and three quarters to be about the right value. Hope this helps someone in the future.

 How about also posting your fix on Viper's thread?
