It takes a study of inductive reasoning to another level. The swans thing is about falsifiability and is particularly relevant to the scientific method :D

I hope it helps Nigel clarify his ideas about the difference between imagination and imaginary things and real things that can be thought about. Then he can explain his reasoning about real trees being imaginary when your away from them and hence not existing to me. :)
