[EM 2.298] Mercenary - CTD Error 7003 *FIXED*

Post by Biscuit390 »

Hey forum

I acquired Evochron Mercenary through Steam last month, and it's worked fine until now. I 'looked' at some of the files, and now the game refuses to start with

Code: Select all

Runtime Error 7003 - Mesh does not exist at line 83859.
LOAD MESH 'C:\\Users\\Max\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\z8888evo\\aster.x',200
I've reinstalled it and verified the game's integrity (W/ steam, the game doesn't even get as far as profile loading screen), to no avail.

Googled the problem as well, nothing there either.

Any ideas?

Not sure on that one, it's possible the file became corrupt somehow. First step I'd suggest is locating that file (or the z8888evo folder), delete it, then restart the game and test. If you can get to the pilot profile screen, just click on the X at the top right and the game will perform its cleanup operation automatically.
