Ninite - Stop installing common programs individually

Post by Misunderstood Wookie »

Not much of a post just wanted to share a small installer I have used for the last five years or so which cuts the install time down on system formats or new system setups. For most of you the first thing you do after you format or get a new system is download all those little necessity programs like Steam, VLC, AVG, GIMP, etc, and that is what this does for you!!!

Ninite essentially is a website\\tool of which you simply load the site and click any of the check-boxs for the programs you want added to your distro\\package and it hit the "Get Your Nanite" too download a tiny web installer package which installs un-supervised all the things you ticked. You may re run the web installer any time you like to check for updates to all the packages if you don't manually update them.

Additionally if you have a few other systems or just a laptop or two there is an additional pro version available which has a deployment server that you install on one machine and the a client on the rest, then you run it on the deployment machine and it schedule it and it can install and update on every machine the client is running on simultaneously.

The best part is just keep this on a USB stick or some other drive or location and you can run it whenever you need it, no need to download it again unless you want one with different applications added or removed.

Welp that is about it from me just wanted to share this as it is super handy.
