Evochron - the first one. RiftSpace?

Post by OSH »

Hi! I'm playing the first one Evochron. I have the best (i think) configuration: Javelin, Atlas cannon, Excalibur rocket, Shield C5.
Now I'm flying into uncharted sapce, but I see I can flying up to system 31. More isn't possible. But - my question is - can I find RiftSpace in the first Evochron too? Is anything interesting in this uncharted space? I'm not interested for spoilers, only for information. Remember, my question is about the first one Evochron 1.0. Not 2.0, Alliance or later. I'm interested, should I play this game or stop it and start playing Evochron 2.0?
Thanks in advance

This applies to EM - I don't know about EL.
There is a Jump Gate to Rift Space.
Generally the closest way to autopilot to it is from Orion.
I'd take a Build (and maybe a Deploy) Constuctor and Cargo scanner and mining beam.
If you don't find a station near the Jump Gate then I'd build one - so you can refuel - and then do a Quick Save (there may be a station there on an MP server but not in SP).

The Rift Space gate coords are:
SX=-1598 SY=0 SZ=-2048
X=0 Y=0 Z=0

No, Marvin. Evochron. From 2005.

Those programs were before my time in space. I think I was still sinking British merchant ships in Silent Hunter III.

If I recall correctly (and it has been over a decade), no, the RiftSpace (as a region of space with its related wormhole network) didn't come along in the game series until at least Renegades.
