[TRANSLATORS] Resources and info for translate the Evochron/Arvoch Games

I've opened this thread because i've seen lot of posts about translations this last weeks. The reason of this is share info/resources and help, in as much as possible.
Hola, We've translating Evochron Legacy into several languages in (for first time!) an international translators team!

atm we're translating in French, Spanish and German, the project are hosted in:

I have lot of original files ready for translate.
  • The official HUD. (1 Text layer and 1 Image Layer ready for work with Paint.Net)
  • The official IntroVideo. (In WMV format)
  • The official Fonts. (TTF) (I can edit the fonts if anyone need)
  • The Quest File. (Plain-Text)
  • The Arvoch Alliance Files (Hud, text, missions and images)
Also i can post here the new/edited/erased lines in every new release for update the translations (I maintain the Spanish)

What do you think about this, guys?

Thanks for the link to Paint.Net, seems a good one! :)

As for translations in general don't count on me, other than the occasional pointing to some details like typos.
Meanwhile I'm back to the original text.dat file, mainly because I prefer a slightly enlarged text (have a look at the CustomKit if you want to know how to do that).
And here's where the problems start off. The text boxes are not really prepared for multilingual requirements, they have a static shape.
You will often run into a situation where certain words in your language will require more size than the original ones, even if you keep the original font size.
That's why I don't want to bother with translation jobs. I want to play in the first place rather than work.
Sorry if that wasn't exactly what you expected to hear...

Yes i have the same problem with the buttons/tex boxes size, but is only adapt :)

Is just a resource thread, if anyone want i can send any file ready for be translated and post the new/erased/modified lines for every new release.

Hi and thank you for your offer. My plans didn't changed and I stick to update and fix the text.dat for EM. The official font file supports every needed character in the german language, so there is no need for any changes. In the meantime I even stopped playing Evochron Mercenary. I simply update this one file as long as the game gets updates. Sorry that I can't offer you a more postivive reply.
