much better download speed :) (3x - 4x)

asteroid cave jumps still work but you need much better precision :)

no problems playing in a hangar or shipyard, trading in a station etc :)

a long journey (multiple jumps) - no problems :)

seems good in USS and R1 (I know they should be the same but I have different PING rates for them) :)

Thanks Vice :)

This is not a new issue but is still happening . . .

I deploy a fuel processor (too far out for a station!) and settle down to refuel. If I use any ship propulsion controls (rotate, strafe, edge forwards) then sometimes (not very often but not rare either) I am jumped into the final part of the exit menu "exit with or without saving".

I reload and obviously have to redeploy the processor; $$$ isn't a problem for me but might be for less established players. However if it happens after I've spent 30 mins refueling (15 minutes to go!) it's a niggle

Perhaps it part of the life of a deep space explorer! - perhaps it's a glitch in the programme - perhaps it's a glitch just on my PC :)

Hi DaveK, their ping rates should be different as they are located in different parts of the country. The ping rate is the time it takes for a signal to get to them and back. if one is farther away (as I am lead to believe) then the ping rate will be higher. If I am wrong in this then Oooops!:D

Both Dingo & I are located on the east coast, USA. I am in the south, Dingo is in the north. Can't be a 1000 miles dif, take a few hundred.

That makes my point. I am in north CA and my ping to San Fransisco about 20 miles away is 48 but 400 miles to L.A. in the south Ping can run in the low 100s. Type of connection to the servers will effect it also. I can get fiber wire into my house now (at a cost) but how far will it get me to the servers I like that may not have that:D. Oh well we do what we can to fly straight and fast.:)

I am wondering why the Distress Call when Muted and disabled on One server is also disabled when you disconnect and connect to another server? I would think it would be server :ocontrolled not game?

The muting is a player-side setting. You aren't muting the distress call for every other player in the game, only for yourself. Other players can still receive a distress call, unless they disable it for themselves. The setting you select simply retains its value for the duration you play the game.

Vice,
Is that player-side selection to mute/disable the distress calls, current and active for that "session" ? Or does it also save to the profile you're flying at the time, server-side non-specific ? :)

Should be persistent for the duration you play the game until you exit it completely. It does not save to the profile, so next time you start the game, the default setting will be restored.

Help! 1.808 patch

Post by 49rTbird »

Working in a system west of Orion under a false Clan tag to reduce my Clan's % I noticed something strange. [UE] % was at 2% so I did a mission under a [OO] tag and the system jumped to 2% for that Clan tag. I did this using both tags a couple of times back and forth and each time the % jumped more than one lost mission % should provide. Is this meant to be at the lower %? It goes from 2%[UE], do a mission and it's at 2% [OO]!:o

Also I noticed that augmenting shields reduces your overall Protection %. In this I mean that if I have 100% on front shield and 50% on other 3 shields and I increase the left to highest then the rear then the right and then go back to increasing the front shield to it's max the left rear and right shield will go down to about 15% each when as stated above they started out at 50%. Does this mean we are suppose to lose our overall % by moving shield strength or is it a glitch?

It's possible if the percentages are just right that you could drop an opposing clan value from 2% to 0%, yet still get full mission credit for 2% for your clan in the process. It's not as though you've shifted things 4%, but rather you've reduced the opposing clan's value 2% while still getting credit for 2% toward your clan. And since the other clan's value drops to 0%, the 2% you earn still gets applied to your clan.

Yes, when you transfer shield power, you lose a little power in the transfer. That is intended (both for a somewhat realistic power transfer effect and as a resource consideration). Nothing new to this build though, it's been part of the shield system for years.

Hello everyone!!!
For players like me that have purchased the game through steam what is happening with the updates, do we have to download as well or the update is automatic via steam?

Thank you very much.

Hi Letoras and welcome.

I checked steam forum earlier and I think 1.808 is available there!
