I've decided to build a couple of mission packs for Arvoch, Ideas and suggestions are welcome...........

1. Renegade Quest.
During the Arvoch Conflict Alliance command receives a cryptic communication regarding Riftspace. While being unable to send a Large force to the area the USS Poseidon is dispatched to investigate........

2. Renegade Siege.
Sierra A Reports incursions by Vonari scout and fighter craft, Meanwhile increased Clan activity throughout Evochron threatens to plunge the whole sector into war. A clue to the final mission of the USS Poseidon, may be the greatest hope, or the most dire threat Mankind has yet faced.....

That actually is a good idea, but don't forget the backup never arrives in Riftspace.

Do we know that?

We know Backup was requested, but not what actually happened to it..........

I'm working on a Video for the first one, my ETA for its release is 30/10/08

it will consist of 8 -10 missions for Arvoch, and I'm also considering a set of missions for EA 2.0 for the 'renegade' side of the missions.....

I've got a question though.............

In Riftspace the portal was a wormhole, but in ER its a jumpgate any suggestions?

currently I'm thinking that the alliance destroyed the original wormhole there, the renegades re-discover it by finding the wormhole there from Vonari space and start building a jumpgate..........

Another possibility is that there are two paths to RiftSpace.

Verb! I am duly impressed! That sounds like one of the best scenario/tie-up ideas, I've heard yet.
I think it's a fantastic scenario and if you pull it off, it will be an absolute "must have" for SW fans, me included.
Kudos to you for the idea, and well wishes for the completion of the "packs".

It think personally, that it could be that the Riftspacians have encapsuled the wormhole with the gate.

Well I've already decided which, but I'm not giving it away...........

most of the missions are going to be the journey from Vonari space ( where the Poseidon is running Covert ops), finding the wormhole to Vonari space, as well as running support missions that complement the story from Arvoch, with the final missions taking place near the time the last Beacon was recorded.........

Well I was up kinda late last night, working on a video to promote the first pack, I'd hoped to finish it last night, but got stuck trying to deploy shield casters in Pearl ( boy is that mission hard............).

Don't expect these mission packs to be easy, in fact I intend to make the last mission impossible ( or as close to - since your supposed to die at the end or at last mission........).


a Couple of questions for Vice

hi,
these are mainly questions in regards to programming the missions,

1. if I want to record an audio briefing would i do

AudioBriefing=soundfile.wav ??
also for a cutscene at the end
EndingCutScene=scene.avi ??

2. there is an option for a cave mission, is this possible within Arvoch?

3.is it possible to specify waves? or do they appear on a timed basis and if so is it possible to set the time between waves? if not what is the time setting for each wave?

4. Is there a limit to the size of the initial hostiles ( I assume this is also 'hostiles per wave' value ) I probably wont go over 30 or so....

5. hostiles skill and weapons? what is the range for this? I take it 1 is low, what is the max value?

I think thats all the Q's I have I can figure out most of the rest..........

Nice work!

1 - Correct.
2 - In theory, yes. Use CavesEnvironment=1 but this hasn't been tested. You will need to place the ships in the game very carefully to stay within the cave boundries.
3 - Use ReinforcementRange. The value is basically the time for new 'waves'/reinforcements to arrive, you are specifying the distance that are allowed to spawn at. A higher timer will result in a longer time period before they arrive.
4 - About 15-16 hostiles per wave.
5 - HostileSkillandWeapons = 1-5 (5 being the highest).

Well I'll give it a go.........

I take it audio has to be .wav and video has to be .avi? are any other formats accepted?

Those are the compatible formats. Although MP3 might also work for audio, just hasn't been tested.

"When it's ready."

LoL, I lost a big pile of my data recently, as soon as I find the backup that had the last version of this I'll work on it some more
;)

I've finished about 5 missions, though they need some finishing touches, for the quest at least....

Excellent Verb!! :D I am looking forward to the challenge of a more difficult Fight with a stream of Hostiles that respawn quickly.....Sounds like it will be Great to do in MP and something the Clans can do as a Team in MP. Just One Question:

1. Will we get to see a good deal of Vonari Fighter incursions into known Space?

That would be awesome to duel it out with the Vonari in Known Space.....Thanks in advance for working on this project. I know it will be Great and a Must Have ;)

Wow - actually kept track of this one - didn't you now?

Verb - I just realized: the Riftspace portal and the Riftspace gate are in two completely unrelated locations. ie the Riftspacians/Renegades must've created another gateway or another gateway already existed.

Someone did but it wasn't me :s

I do have most of the missions for Renegade Quest, But i never got round to doing media for them :( . Given my current priorities ( kiddies have chicken pox, I have a cold , and we're redecorating the house, I wont be able to apply the final touches, but sometime next week I promise, feel free to keep hassling me about it though, I get forgetful..........

I remember a project called "new universe for Evochron Renegades".
Is there any info about this?

I remember Tha_Rami and Verbosity are working on this seperately.Am I right?
Also remember some screenshots which come from Verbosity ???

Yes. The Evochron Alternate Universe Project (EvoAUP) was cancelled due to lack of support, lack of time and lack of feedback. It was too massive an undertaking to take up alone without a proper toolset and I lacked the time to create an actual toolset. The EvoAUP was a seperate project for Evochron Renegades, these mods are additional lore for Arvoch Conflict. They are not related.
