Resolution update, public test...

I've implemented some changes in the way the game detects and sets up the screen resolution. I've put together a test build and would like to get feedback on how well it works. Here's a quick list of the changes:

- Menus now match the 'Optimized' resolution mode (eliminating the problem with white bars on certain resolutions).
- No more white flashing when going from the menu to gameplay.
- Menus can now be displayed at resolutions above 2048X1536.
- Screen no longer flashes white when exiting from gameplay to menus.

To test this build, simply download this ZIP file and replace the existing ArvochConflict.exe file in the \\sw3dg\\arvochconflict directory with the one in the ZIP file. It will replace your desktop icon with a gray square, this just marks it as a test build and is normal. Simply run the original installer to restore the previous build of the game (you can switch back and forth this way for additional testing and comparison).

Please focus testing on the 'Optimized' resolution mode. If it works well and provides the resolution settings needed to resolve the problems listed above, I'll make it an official update.

Get error 190 on install, and then install ctd.

Error 190 indicates it couldn't access a DLL it needed, most likely because something blocked it. Make sure you're not running anything in the background that would interfere with a program/game. I can analyze your configuration if you complete the steps here:

Something must be lingering from an old install. Check your desktop icon and make sure it links correctly to the latest version of the game EXE in the \\sw3dg\\arvochconflict folder. If it continues, delete, rename, or move the sw.cfg file from that folder and see if the game will automatically redetect new settings for you. Check the date of the EXE in the build you are using in that folder, it should be 05-14-07, nothing older.

It runs in demo mode, is that any help? Should I register it (got my key available)?

File 05-07-2007. Links to the correct folder. Icon changed to DB project icon (grey square).

That's the wrong file date, it needs to be 05-14-07, so maybe it didn't install correctly or it installed to some other folder. The gray DB icon indicates it was a beta test and not a final release. The full installer is needed from the downloads section of the game's website.

You can enter your key to register it, or restore the old files from the folder and make sure you've updated the EXE to the 05-14-07 version.

Already wondered why it was smaller than the one that came with the installer.
