Ship customization and other ideas for improvement.
Personally I play Evochron Mercenary because it makes you feel like you're flying your own ship, and to fortify that feel I think the game should
offer more options to customize your ship.
Just the littlest things like decals or more detailed painting tool. Also it'd be nice if you could give a nickname to your ship.
Few other things:
When you zoom in in the navigation screen, you can move around the grid using the arrow buttons also use the arrow keys to do this.
Also when you zoom in the navigation screen, it changes the focus automatically to your current location. I think it'd be better if it kept focus on
your cursor and you could return focus to your current location with a button or something like that.
Lastly: The map log is kind of hard to use. It'd be a bit more user friendly if you could rearrange the saved locations instead of having them in the
order of saving. Also you should be able to edit already saved points.
That's my two cents on what to add/change in future patches and I hope it's been helpful.
Cheers
EDIT: I didn't mean to post this here. Dunno what went wrong but I reposted these ideas here:

If you want to comment my ideas or otherwise discuss them, do it in that thread.
As far as I'm concerned this thread can be deleted.

Ship customization:
If you're doing it for yourself and don't care if others see it then Vice allows you to mod textures and I *THINK* even models. So in essence you can
fly around with a spiffy paint job and a decal. Obviously others cant see that in multiplayer though. I agree that more customization would make the
ships much more unique.
You know I wonder if one solution for this would be to allow us to upload mods to the server. Obviously the admin would decide if he wants to allow it
or not but it would give us the ability to let everyone see our cool paint jobs.
Navigation Screen:
I thought the same thing at first. Then I realized after about 3 days how big of a role exploration takes in the game. Hell you can't even find posted
coordinates for 25% of the stuff out there! If he let us just click around at will then half of the challenge of exploration would be lost since
completely uncharted planets are very hard to find. That said I would really like to see the main grid zoomed out at least go 1 tick in each
direction. Then again zoomed out it DOES cover a massive area.
Nav Map edit:
Good idea. Yes please!
You have a much better chance of the developer seeing this if you post it in the Suggestions for expansion thread. The expansion is coming out pretty
soon I *THINK*.

Uncharted plants wouldn't need to show up in the map before you discover them. And further more, as it is you'll end up finding most places of
interest by looking at the map of the nearby area anyway. Also, the universe is so huge that just clicking around isn't going to get you too far (I
think). Making the map more user friendly wouldn't eliminate exploration completely.

You can edit the maplog.
Just open the corresponding maplog in your default installation folder.
There is one for each profile. (Make a backup copy first).
