Menu Buttons

I decided I wanted some smaller menu buttons. Nothing fancy, just editing the existing ones but they won't work in the game. The template file from the mod kit won't work for me either, it simply says file error and lists the file name.

To clarify, this is the main menu buttons in the game. Does it work for anyone else?

Did you create and place them in the proper directory? I'm not sure, but I believe they go in Menu folder in your EM directory, though I may be wrong :P

Yes I did that. I've done it before, but that was on an older version of the game and on a different machine. I'm wondering if it is something Vice no longer supports as I noticed there are a few templates that are no longer in the mod kit. Or perhaps it's just broken. Thanks though.

The menu buttons are .png image files. PNG files can have several types of compression-, bit depth-, interlacing, ppi (pixels per inch) etc. You have to make sure your new menu button matches the settings of the old one to make it show up in game. The template one is 256x256px, has a bit depth of 24 and a 150ppi resolution. I can't make out whether it is compressed or not, but there are programs on the net which can tell you every detail of any image (I used to have a program like that but I can't seem to find it at the moment).

Good luck!

Thanks Viper but the template isn't even working so I'm not sure what the issue is.
