A new Australian Evochron Server
Howdy folks. Just wanted to extend an invitation to all players to check out our new server. Archys Portal has been hosting Freelancer for several
years and is now hosting Evochron.
A few of our Freelancer players are drifting in and a few from the existing Evochron community have started playing here.
I hope to see you in space soon.

Nice work Archy. An Australian server was very much needed. Many players I can think of us have been subject to some pretty horrible ping rates over
on the state-side servers.

We-European players-have horrible ping rates any server we join in.. We are doomed!!

Sorry to necro this thread, but does anyone know what happened to this server? I just got Evo and am looking to play it multiplayer. But the pings I'm
getting are rather attrocious (350+)

Archy's portal closed down mainly from lack of players.
I am from Perth, Western Australia too. I know all about playing with high ping.
I;v been playing this game for a few years and even when Archy portal was open I would play mostly
in the other servers with the high ping.
Honestly I can not noticed the difference most of the time.
When there a lots of people online and the server is getting full, then sometimes I notice.
When there is more than 6 people in the same sector, I may start to notice.
With all the new players, If they all staying in the starting location then going online and the server is reaching its max, you will notice a bit of
lag.
This game is playable even with 350+ ping and you can still be competitive in PvP. This is one of the few online games I have that high ping is not a
problem for me.
