Evochron Legends Now Available on Impulse...
EL is now available on Impulse. Details are available here:
http://www.impulsedriven.com/evochron
If you've already purchased the game, I think you can link in the game to your list of Impulse games for future update notifications, downloading,
etc. Otherwise, update notifications, test builds, and download details will continue to be posted on the forum and/or the game's website as well.

sweet...
Can we link up our current keys to the impulse engine, as I'd prefer to keep it that way (password is easier for me to remember )

That I don't know, I'm not that familiar with their system. I think you can include the game on a list with other Impulse games somehow and from
there, you may be able to include your key details in a private message/note system their service may offer. If not, or as an additional measure of
backing up, I'd suggest keeping the installer on disc and include your key inside, or at least have the key with other data you back up.

Congratulations on getting onto Impulse! As it happens, I'm a recently arrived customer from said service. =) Looking forward to playing with
y'all.
Had this game in mind since the articles on RockPaperShotgun, so it was fortunate timing indeed to spot this just after my final exam.

I picked this up last week on Impulse, where I seem to buy most of my PC games these days.
I must say that even though I haven't traveled that far yet, I'm truly enjoying the game, its exactly what I've been looking for.
I probably won't post a lot but I've been lurking around the boards reading tons since I bought the game, and will continue to, seems to be a great
and helpful community.

Hi MurficWPN, welcome to the game and the forums!
The community here is great and helpful. There is a nice mix of new and old members who can give advice and answer your questions. There are even
quite a few "old timers" (respectfully meant) who have been with the series since the beginning and bring an interesting aspect to the game.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Hopefully we'll see you in MP some time.

Welcome indeed. Accountant makes me wonder though, who we should consider old-timers.
I'm afraid most of the people that were around when I first joined here four years ago (four years, wow!) are no longer active members - MMaggio is
definitely still around and by far the longest running member, Tiger and Alg are less frequently seen nowadays, sadly. I remember when I joined the
first Evochron was under development, and Riftspace and Starwraith IV where the gems of the series.
Wow, that actually kind of makes me an 'old-timer' at 20 years old.

Hi,
I'm also here because of Impulse. Didn't buy the game yet. But it remembers me of old Elite on my MSX years ago.
Currently playing around with the demo if i'm not playing Demigod or Plant vs Zombies :-)
How big is the game universe? Back in the old elite we had 8 galaxies created with a nice algoritme. (Í've isolated the naming algorithme which was
quite funny to use in an other galaxy related application)
Not sure if i will go to play this game. Maybe I will try online and find some directions what to do etc.
How easy is it to create my own galaxy?
Are there plans to create a real 3D galaxy (with x,y,z axis for stars and planets)?
Greetings from the Netherlands

Greetings from the Netherlands | The game universe is extremely huge. Look on the quadrant map in the nav
console to see the charted systems, that map does not show the uncharted systems that can be found by exploration. You can travel between the systems
without using jump drives or the gates, since the entire universe is created as a whole when the game loads, however be prepared to spend a lot of
time in open space as the distance between systems can be hundreds of sectors.
The current game universe is already in 3D with planets, stations, and other locales placed along all three axes. You can see this in the demo by
using the 'rear view' button in the nav console and zooming out.
StarWolves Clan, HellFire Squadron
Multiplayer is a great way to meet new people and have some good fun, please remember that all is in fun.

You can install the demo and look yourself. Vast universe indeed.
Also you can join to Mp with demo. Try before you buy.

Ah, silly me, didn't notice. The mention of z axis alone should have been enough indication that it is fully 3D :-)
It's probably because the learning curve is rather steep. (did i spell this correctly?) So much information to start with. I know there is a
tutorial, but maybe it could be extended? What about a method to add/mod tutorial steps? Things like locate the nearest planet. go to it and buy
mining laser and go to location.... mine it using .... etc? Learn how to buy and sell stuff. Start with some small sector which can be played
unlimited to learn stuff. Even online so more experienced players can show stuff to new people.
Sorry if those things are already done, in that case i just didn't find them yet.

locations on the same 2D "galactic plane", Y axis denotes above or below.
In the training mode of the demo you can ignore the instructions and have unlimited game time to play in Sapphire system (training mode turns off the
demo timer) to get used to how things are done.
