Build 1.058 (multiple control devices)...

1.058 is available for download and updates the multiple control device system. As mentioned earlier, the new control system works for multiple control devices, but one of the rotary inputs for the X52 isn't picked up. So I've been working on a 'hybrid' setup for the axis channel system that uses channels 1-6 for the device mode system and 7-10 for an alternate input system that restores support for the rotary on X52's. Some devices may return a signal on two channels, but it won't intefere with normal operation and most devices will generally use unique channel inputs. More details on options for the upper channels are available in the technical notes section of the instructions. If you're using 1.048 now, you may only want to update to this build if you use an X52 and want support for the top rotary control. Otherwise, it's essentially identical to 1.048.

Still in the process of uploading but should be done momentarily. Once an official build version is ready I'll move it to my downloads folder ;)

Yet another mirror is probably unnecessary... but here it is for anyone who cares...

I use the rotaries for strafe control. Seems like a logical use to me.

I was on the SW Legends server and upon Exit it did not offer the option to save or exit without saving. I tried it again and the second time it did offer it. This has happened twice before that I recall. I will make it a habit of doing a Quick save to be sure it saves but then again sometimes I don't want to save. I'm not sure if it has saved when it doesn't offer the option. Any clues? :):(;)

You were on a contract (or linked into one), where the saving option isn't presented.

I have revised build 1.058 to include support for Saitek rudder pedals. Axis channel 7 can now detect input from those rudder pedals and channels 8-10 are now used for the manual control options (with some changes to help reduce channel duplication). Unless a major bug is found with this build, it will likely be announced as the official build by Friday. Same download link as above.

Just installed 1.058 and I'm having major joystick issues. I use an old MS Sidewinder Precision Pro (no FF) which has been fine for all previous builds. I had to reconfigure it after installing the new build, but am now drifting left and down constantly. Come out the station and stop and the ship just tumbles. Reconfigured several times, but still the same problem.

Any ides how the change could affect such on old, basic stick?

You could use the options configuration to include a dead zone of "1" and try that. Good luck.

also, make sure and check the horizontal and vertical thruster controls. If you dont use them, I suggest disabling them completely during joystick settup. I had the same issue with accidently hitting my x52 sliders that I had those bound to. I completely disabled those and just stick with normal controls and use the inertia on/off to make special combat moves.

The new control system is much more sensitive. So older, somewhat 'loose' controllers may find they do not center as much due to the narrower deadzone. You'll likely just need to change the deadzone setting to a higher value and/or recalibrate your controller in windows.

Great. Deadzone of 1 did it, thanks guys. Solid as a rock now. Tk, I discovered trying the renegades demo that the horizontal and vertical thrusters wouldn't work on the hat with this stick so I know what you mean :-)

The stick and the A drive are the oldest things on this 'puter now. Guess it's time to upgrade when/if I can afford to!!!

Thanks again all for you help :-)
